Over 50 student judges were on hand to take part in announcing the CBSA awards.

The Darkness Rises by Stacy Stokes and The Island by Natasha Preston were the two winning CBSA books. Members of five CBSA teams were able to help announce the award.

April 20, 2024, Bear Creek High School, Lakewood

THEIVES’ GAMBIT WINS the Juried Award. ONCE THERE WAS wins the Readers’ Choice Award. Despite three inches of new snow, fourteen student judges were on hand from Denver, Longmont and Fort Collins to announce the award.

13 students, 6 mentors announcing the award.

Once There Was is Announced as the winner of the Readers’ Choice Award. The book was nominated by the book team “Hard Tack Life”. The mentor and judge shown center as they hear the news.

April 15, 2023, Bear Creek High School, Lakewood

THESE DEADLY GAMES wins both the juried and the readers’ choice COLORADO BLUE SPRUCE YOUNG ADULT BOOK AWARD. The book team, THE ODYSSEY GOLDEN COSMOS were at the conference to announce the winner.

The Golden Cosmos Team announced the winning book!
