The above quote is from Vivie, a Just Soup Judge. She is right! Every mentor and judge should really think about what books they want to read and bring suggestions to your book team meetings. The tool that we use is the CBSA eligible books padlet. All books that the book teams read must be on or added to the padlet. Books can be added by mentors, judges, librarians, teachers, and parents. The books are divided into genres so teams can decide if they want to diversify their reading.
We are hoping that the padlet will be a place where all Colorado book lovers will feel comfortable commenting on and rating books.
Steps to add a book to Blue Spruce Padlet
(Adding a book to the padlet should all about take 2 to 5 minutes.)
ELIGIBLE BOOKS ARE PUBLISHED IN 2021-2022, BUT NOT FIRST MADE AS A MOVIE OR TV SERIES, NOT SELF-PUBLISHED, AND NOT IS THE SAME SERIES AS A PREVIOUS CBSA WINNER.
- Join Padlet so viewers may see the author of the post.
- 2Click on CBSA 22/23 padlet button above.
- Select the genre where you would like to add a book.
- Click on the + button :
- In the “Subject line” include your name (if you are not signed onto padlet) and the published date. It is optional to add publisher and number of pages.
- Click on Link
To add a picture of the cover. Type in title of the book and then click on
- When you locate the book cover image, click on it and it will be added to the information you are submitting.
- In the “Write something beautiful” section, it would be great if you could write a short comment about why you love the book or copy a brief summary.
